WTR Announces 2025 LST Driver Line Up

Wayne Taylor Racing announced today their return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship, fielding four cars among three categories of classes. With a commitment to driver and team development, the 2025 LSTNA season will mark a decade of participation where WTR has accomplished 14 championship titles and one World Finals championship over the years. In WTR’s return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo grid, the team’s support through dealerships will continue for third season with Dealership Champions, Lamborghini Palm Beach.

Teaming up for the first time, Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson will compete together for 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season in the PRO class. Formal, a full-time driver for WTR in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship No. 45 DEX Lamborghini GTD, will contest in “double duty” fashion for a second season as he enters the 2025 LST competition. The Costa Rican is no stranger to success in Super Trofeo as he earned back-to-back PRO Driver Championship titles in 2022 and 2023 and continued his impressive winning streak with three wins on the season in 2024. While Ericsson will make his American racing debut, the Swedish driver now enters his second season driving in LST, this time in the North American Championship rather than his previous LST Europe experience. Last year in LST Europe, Ericsson’s rookie season saw one podium finish before a stout performance at the World Finals in Jerez, Spain, crowned him Vice World Champion with a World Finals victory and podium.

Returning to Wayne Taylor Racing for his third season, second as a full-time driver, is Nick Persing. The Californian has climbed his way up to the top step of the podium in the PRO|AM class in the past two years, collecting six wins to his resume. Persing’s 2024 was highlighted by a PRO|AM class sweep at the Circuit of the Americas as well as two podium results at World Finals. For the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season, Persing will make the move in classes shifting to the PRO class and driving as a solo driver for all six doubleheader events on the calendar.

For Anthony McIntosh and Brendon Leitch, it’s a World Finals reunion for the pair as they enter the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season together in full season capacity. At the 2024 World Finals in Spain, the pair were crowned the PRO|AM World Champions after an impressive World Finals-only performance together. McIntosh, the reigning LSTNA AM Champion, slides up to the PRO|AM category full time in 2025 after tallying seven wins in 12 rounds throughout 2024. Leitch is a newcomer to the WTR LST stable, but the New Zealand native’s accolades speak for themselves within his LST Europe tenure. Leitch was crowned the overall 2023 LST Europe PRO Champion in 2023 with two wins followed up by last year’s World Finals Championship performance as well as having earned Vice Champion PRO|AM honors in 2019.

Completing the WTR lineup for 2025 is a new pairing in the duo of Glenn McGee and Graham Doyle in the AM class. McGee, a two-time AM Champion, enters his third season on the LST North America Championship grid. The driver who turned simulator racing into a reality began in LST back in 2022 and since then collected 12 wins and two World Finals victories in the AM class. Doyle will team up with McGee for the first time as he returns to WTR and the LSTNA field for a third year in a row. Like his WTR teammate, Formal, Doyle will balance competing in all six doubleheader LST weekends along with co-driving in the No. 45 Lamborghini GTD for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events throughout the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The Wayne Taylor Racing stable of LST drivers and teams will begin the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship season with Sebring International Raceway on March 13-14. From there the schedule for LST includes WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on May 10-11, Watkins Glen International on June 19-20, Road America on August 2-3 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 19-20. To complete the 2025 season, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals will take place November 6-9 with the final North America competition and the international stage of World Finals in Misano, Italy.

Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Quotes

Danny Formal, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO): “It's pretty awesome to be back with the WTR team again, with this amazing family in Super Trofeo. Two Championships later, a Vice Championship last year. It's just been an incredible journey and I'm super excited. It's going to be fantastic. I can't really ask for much better than what we've accomplished, 22 wins and counting so far in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO Championship. I'm super excited to start. I love this family. I love this team. I love this group. Super Trofeo is just one of the coolest series in the world and I'm super excited to share a car this year with Hampus Ericsson. I raced him in Jerez last year; a fantastic young and up and coming driver. We're going to try to fight for the championship for the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini team. Hampus will be learning all these tracks as he's never raced in the United States, so I'm super excited to be able to help him and push each other to try to find optimal pace. I’m excited to get back with everyone: Graham, Anthony, Brendon, Nick and Glenn and everyone on the WTR team.”

Hampus Ericsson, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO): “First of all, I need to thank Wayne and Travis for their trust and this opportunity. I’m finally making my debut in American racing and to do it with WTR is a dream coming true. One of the best, if not the best, Lamborghini Super Trofeo teams out there. It’s a huge honor to represent the WTR squad and to continue my journey with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. I’m sure I’m in good hands as my brother Marcus has raced with WTR in the past. Can’t wait for the season to start! Teaming up with Danny Formal, I'm sure we have good chances to win the Championship and World Finals. So that’s the aim for sure. It’s a great championship with fast drivers so definitely hard work and patience will be key, and I’ll try to learn as much as possible, as fast as possible. But again, I’m in great hands so I have no doubt that the 2025 season will be one to remember. Last but not least, I need to thank my sponsors and family making this possible. Let the journey begin, I’m ready for it!”

Nick Persing, No. 8 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO): “It’s great to join Wayne Taylor Racing for the 2025 season in Lamborghini Super Trofeo. I’m excited to be back and ready to tackle a new challenge running in PRO this year. As for my expectations, I know it’s going to be a challenge, but I am looking to try and take home some podiums and hopefully a few wins this year. The level of competition in PRO is going to be extremely high, so this will be a year of growth for me, and I am going to try and evolve to the next level as a driver. Hopefully I can end the season with a good result and learn a lot from my PRO teammates in the process.”

Brendon Leitch, No. 69 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO|AM): “I’m very excited to debut with Wayne Taylor Racing in the U.S., they are an iconic team in the USA and it’s a great opportunity! Tony and I have one goal and that is to win the PRO|AM title, continue where we left off at the World Finals last year.”

Graham Doyle, No. 10 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo (AM): “I am extremely excited to be starting my third year of Super Trofeo with Wayne Taylor Racing. Over the past two years I feel I have grown, as both a person and a driver, and can’t wait to embark on another great season. Working with Glenn (McGee) throughout 2024, and now driving together in 2025, is truly exciting. I am looking forward to a new year filled with challenging competition and a year with our sights set on achieving a championship.”

Glenn McGee, No. 10 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo (AM): “I'm so grateful to be back with our championship-winning team, at Wayne Taylor Racing for 2025! I enjoyed working with the talented crew and engineers last year, and I think we built, and can continue to build, a very effective relationship and winning approach to each weekend. Along with an insanely strong roster of drivers we have on the team, I'm excited to be sharing driver duties alongside Graham Doyle, in the No. 10 DEX Imaging Lamborghini. Sometimes it's easy to forget just how early he is in his racing career, and I've watched him continuously get faster and level-up at every race. I think with WTR’s support, we'll be a tough car to beat in 2025.”
