Entering their inaugural event as Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing, the No. 101 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R Hypercar team are ready to challenge in the 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans. Apart of the four-car Cadillac Racing stable in the 21-car Hypercar field, Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque are all eager to bring their previous Le Mans experience to table. The debut of the Wayne Taylor Racing team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside Cadillac Racing is a full circle moment for Team Owner, Wayne Taylor, who previously competed at the historic 24-hour endurance event back in the early 2000s under the Cadillac Racing banner.
While each of the WTR drivers have not previously driven as co-drivers at Le Mans, each bring their own expertise and experience to the team. Both Ricky and Jordan Taylor will also compete at Le Mans in their first year as co-drivers under their father’s namesake team. Ricky Taylor’s experience at Le Mans includes most of his years competing in the P2 category, with two top 15 class finishes. Jordan Taylor will enter his 10th year at Le Mans, nearly competing all attempts with the General Motors brand, now his in first with Cadillac Racing and boasts a LM GTE Pro Class Win in 2015. Filipe Albuquerque is only driver in the WTR trio who has previously competed in the overall prototype category and holds a LMP2 Class Win back in 2020.
Before the race weekend action begins, the No. 101 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R Hypercar participated in last Sunday’s two test sessions that allowed the trio of WTR drivers and team to get familiarized with the Circuit de la Sarthe. Across the two test sessions, the No. 101 team posted a best lap time of 03:28.909 around the 13.626-kilometer (8.467-mile) circuit.
“This is the first time the Wayne Taylor Racing team has come to Le Mans, thanks to Cadillac Racing,” said Wayne Taylor, Team Owner and 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP1 Class Winner. “The guys have done a fantastic job building a car, getting all the equipment over here, and in a short amount of time (since the announcement in March 2025). I would say during the Test Day, we looked as good as anybody. I feel very proud of this team. All the drivers got time in the car, there were no mechanical issues, and so, overall, it met my expectations, if not better. I would have liked us to have gone a little faster, but, really and truly, you forget that this is an eight-and-half mile track, so if you say you are two seconds off the pace here, it is really just .0001 when compared to going around Daytona, a two-and-half mile track. They are doing the prep now and Wednesday it all starts again. I am excited and humbled by the whole event. For Cadillac to bring me back here is just incredible and what a dream I am living, having the team, both my sons and Filipe, my ‘third son’ here with us. My view is that if we can have a competitive race, get into that top six, it would be very rewarding. This four-car Cadillac Racing factory program is with JOTA, AXR and WTR and we will put our best foot forward.”
The No. 101 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R team will have four free practice sessions around Circuit de la Sarthe between Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 before the 24-hour event begins. The first qualifying practice session, with the top 15 advancing to dual Hyperpole session, is set for Wednesday evening. The top 15 of lap times from Wednesday’s qualifying practice will advance to participate in the dual Hyperpole sessions on Thursday, June 12. New for 2025, the Hyperpole sessions is split into two segments. The top 10 lap times from the first 20-minute Hyperpole session will move on to compete for the Hyperpole award in a final 15-minute session.
The 93rd 23 Hours of Le Mans will begin at 10 a.m. EST (4 p.m. Central European Summer Time) on Saturday, June 14, with live timing coverage available on the FIA WEC app and the Cadillac Racing YouTube channel.
Ricky Taylor, No. 101 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “We learned a lot at the test day. It is such a long event, but it goes so fast, so we are really prioritizing seat time for the drivers and getting up to speed. When we get back for the race weekend, we can try and find a bit more speed in the car. We are happy to have gotten all the laps for the test day. We learned a lot between the slow zones, safety cars, full course yellows. We got a lot of the procedural stuff under our belt which was nice to practice. I think that is a big part to being successful here in Le Mans. There are so many rules that execution becomes very important. We now have three days to look over data, prepare and then we will hit the track Wednesday fully ready to go.”
“It is so cool to see so many of our Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing crew here. They went to their first tech appointment at Scutineering on Friday and even the Tech Officials said what good job they had done to prepare. It was great to hear that we are doing a good job! Hats off to their preparation and all the hard work they have done here and back at the shop, but also thanks to our Cadillac Racing teammates, JOTA and Action Express. They have been very helpful with logistics and getting us up to speed, both for the crew and the drivers. They have been able to share their experience and it been so helpful.”
Jordan Taylor, No. 101 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “We had a really good test day, our first time here as a team. We progressed a lot through the two sessions, and at the end of the day, we ended up with all three drivers and the team pretty happy with the car. So, going into race week, we are excited to get more running, keep learning more about the car and what we need to go faster, keep working on pit stops and all the things that are unique to Le Mans that is new for our team. We are all excited. It is great to be here representing Cadillac, Mobil 1 and Wayne Taylor Racing on such a big global stage. Great to have four Cadillacs here, fighting hard and all working together, pushing each other and developing as quickly as possible to hopefully have a good weekend. We are looking forward to it and should be a good week.”
Filipe Albuquerque, No. 101 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “It was so nice to be driving the Cadillac V-Series.R around Le Mans and being in the top class, working with Ricky and Jordan, the WTR crew and getting up to speed through the day. It is incredible how six hours of practice is so short. You see each lap is 3-½ minutes so if there is a safety car or yellow, it takes a long time to come back because you have to come at 80. So much can happen here, so we always need more time. We are having a lot of fun and learning all the procedures as quickly as possible, especially from JOTA as they are the guys who have been here the most. We are trying to keep up with them and AXR and we are doing our homework. We are all pumped for the race to start. We will spend the next few days preparing the car for the race and qualifying. We are excited about it all!”
