The No. 10 SunTrust Ford Dallara of Wayne Taylor Racing will start Saturday's GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series season-ending Utah 250 from the inside of the second row after qualifying Friday afternoon at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Ricky Taylor, co-driver of the SunTrust Racing machine with Italian veteran Max Angelelli, turned a fast lap of 1 minute, 43.565 seconds (105.950 mph) around the 3.048-mile, 15-turn "outer circuit" used for the first time this season for the Rolex Series competitors at the racetrack located some 30 miles west of Salt Lake City.

"I knew we had a good, solid top-three car today, but when they told me on the radio I was P3 by only two-tenths of a second, I was hoping I had time to try and beat those guys," said the 21-year-old Taylor, whose qualifying spot today was his sixth consecutive top-three effort and eighth in 10 qualifying runs this season. "I had some good laps early and maybe could've gotten a little bit more out of a couple of other laps. But then, when it was time to go for it at the end of the session, I caught traffic and that was the end of it. That's the downside to racing on such a long track - and this one's still on the long side even though they took a mile-and-a-half and nine turns out of the previous configuration. You get good and spread out, but if you happen to catch traffic, you don't get as many laps in the 15-minute timeframe to get the job done. I still think we have a really good racecar for tomorrow. With the championship already decided, we can definitely take some risks and do whatever it takes to go for the win."

Memo Rojas won the pole for the fourth time this season with a lap of 1:43.377 (106.143 mph) in the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates BMW Riley he shares with Scott Pruett. Jon Fogarty captured the outside-front-row starting spot with a lap of 1:43.433 (106.086 mph) in the No. 99 Gainsco/Bob Stallings Racing Chevrolet Riley he shares with Alex Gurney. The Ganassi team has already clinched the 2010 team championship with a 35-point lead in the standings over the second-place SunTrust team. The Gainsco team is nine points back of the SunTrust team in third place.

"We really wanted the pole today, so I'm not going to say I'm happy with P3," said team owner Wayne Taylor. "The good thing is it'll be better to be on the inside heading into turn one at the start. We're definitely going to race to win tomorrow. The only way to race is to race to win, so that's what we're going to do. I think we have the car and the team and the drivers to do it. That would certainly finish the season on a good note and give us all something to be happy about."

4. AIM Autosport (No. 61 Ford Riley) with Burt Frisselle and Mark Wilkins (1:43.760 at 105.751 mph)

5. Spirit of Daytona Racing (No. 90 Porsche Coyote) with Antonio Garcia and Buddy Rice (1:43.930 at 105.578 mph)
