2025 Detroit Grand Prix Qualifying Report

The Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R duo took on the streets of Detroit to set the grid for Saturday’s 100-minute sprint race. In the heart of downtown, the 11-car GTP field tackled 15 minutes of qualifying action to set the starting order for the Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic.

Filipe Albuquerque, in the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, and Louis Delétraz, in the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, handled the qualifying duties for the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing pair. Due to penalties assessed from practice earlier in the day, both the No. 10 and No. 40 lost their fastest lap time from the qualifying, forcing the drivers to attempt two flyer laps. As the checkered flag waved, Albuquerque posted a time of 01:06.916 for eighth with Delétraz right beside in ninth with a time of 01:07.553.

Tomorrow’s Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic will begin at 3:40 p.m. ET with Peacock broadcasting all 100 minutes of racing action.

Filipe Albuquerque, full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Great effort from the WTR team. I think we did a good lap that was P4, which was only three-tenths off pole position, and the same position that we started last year. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in FP2 that caused a red flag. So, that lap was deleted. And because I got traffic as well in qualifying, I couldn’t do a second great lap. It’s heartbreaking a little bit. I feel sorry for the team because it’s completely on me that mistake. We are between walls trying to search for the limit and it happens.”

Louis Delétraz, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Tough qualifying and not the result we expected. We have some work to do in the race. It’s tough to pass, so we’ll probably do some different strategy and try to work our way to the front. The Cadillac V-Series.R runs well over bumps and it’s very bumpy here, so we can try to attack and make some good overtakes tomorrow for bringing that Cadillac at home at the front.”
