2024 LST Round Five at Indianapolis

The Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (WTRAndretti) Lamborghini Super Trofeo (LST) team will return for Rounds 9 and 10 of the LST North America Championship at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). The WTRAndretti team’s four-car effort across the PRO, PRO|AM and AM classes continue their pursuit of 2024 championships titles. The team will take on the iconic 2.439-mile course, marking the last doubleheader of racing action in the U.S. before the team takes on the World Finals in Spain to conclude the 2024 LSTNA season.

Danny Formal and Ryan Norman will look to continue their series of strong performances in the No. 1 WTRAndretti Lamborghini Huracán LST. The driver duo now sits just six points behind the championship leaders in the PRO class with four rounds remaining. After securing pole position for both races at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), last lap contact in the first race prevented the team from taking home both wins for the weekend. However, the drivers persevered and rebounded in the weekend’s second race to score their second win overall to shrink the championship gap going into the closing stages of the season.

In the No. 8 Huracán LST in the PRO|AM class, Nate Stacy and Nick Persing secured the championship lead after a sweep of wins during the COTA weekend that propelled the driver pairing to build a two-point gap in the PRO|AM class championship standings. This performance adds to the No. 8 team’s already impressive season as the duo has won four of the eight completed rounds. Stacy and Persing will seek to grow their championship buffer in the closing rounds at IMS before heading to the World Finals in Spain.

In similar fashion to their teammates in the No. 8 car, Anthony McIntosh and Glenn McGee will look to grow their lead in the AM class championship at IMS after the pair had a near perfect weekend in COTA with two wins and a pole position. McGee and McIntosh are no strangers to success when it comes to IMS as the duo collected both AM category wins in 2023. The No. 69 Global Power Components WTRAndretti Huracán LST team has managed to podium at six of the eight rounds, as they look to continue their dominant performances in the last four rounds of the season.

Graham Doyle and Ashton Harrison will return to pilot the No. 10 DEX Imaging WTRAndretti Lamborghini Huracán LST as the team heads to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course – a track both drivers are familiar with. After showing strong pace throughout the weekend at COTA, misfortune cost the driver duo a podium position in both races, despite keeping pace with frontrunners. Looking to capitalize on the momentum from COTA and the pair’s experience at IMS, Doyle and Harrison will be on the hunt their first win of the season in the closing four rounds.

On track action for the WTRAndretti LST Team at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will start at noon on Thursday, Sept. 20, with qualifying and the first race of the doubleheader commencing at 10:20 a.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. ET, respectively, on Friday, Sept. 21.  The second race of the weekend will take place at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, June 22.  Rounds 9 and 10 North America Championship from Watkins Glen International will be streamed live on Peacock.

Danny Formal, No. 1 WTRAndretti LST(PRO): “We’re six points behind the championship lead. We made some serious ground at COTA. We had some crazy pace in all four race cars under WTRAndretti and I'm super excited to get going at Indy. My teammate, Ryan Norman’s incredible race pace from 2023 is definitely remembered there and taking the two wins. He was fantastic at Indy last year, so super excited to get going there with him again. We will try to bring a couple more wins to our team and try to get closer to the championship heading to Jerez De La Frontera in the middle of November. Proud of the team, what we've accomplished so far. The team is done a fantastic job, all engineers have just done incredible job. The race cars are phenomenal.”

Nate Stacy, No. 8 WTRAndretti LST (PRO|AM): “With Indy around the corner, I’m super excited to get the last stateside round of the LST championship underway! I absolutely love this track. It’s treated me very well the last few years and I hope our hot streak at Indy continues!”

Nick Persing, No. 8 WTRAndretti LST (PRO|AM): “I’m extremely excited to get back to Indy after the dominating performance we had there last year. Expectations are definitely high.  COTA left us in first in the PRO|AM championship points, so I think that we just need to do all we can to not throw points away when it’s not necessary and just keep it on track. It means a lot to be at the team’s home race and being able to see everyone who works behind the scenes come to a race.  Hopefully we can put on a good show for them and the home crowd.”

Graham Doyle, No. 10 DEX Imaging WTRAndretti LST (AM): “Heading to Indy for the final two races of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo season in North America, I believe this is a moment to both capitalize and display what we have achieved throughout the season and what we look to achieve in the future. After a strong showing last season and a very positive test, I believe Ashton and I are ready to tackle the Brickyard and continue to progress on the track hopefully landing us on the podium.”

Ashton Harrison, No. 10 DEX Imaging WTRAndretti LST (AM): “Very excited to be back at Indy, a place where I’ve had a lot of success in past seasons. This track has so much history, it’s hard to not smile while driving around this circuit. I’m thrilled to be back with Graham in our DEX Imaging LST. The test here went super well and I’m looking forward to putting in the work to grab another podium finish before World Finals.”
