The No. 93 Harrison Contracting Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22 heads back to Sebring International Raceway this week to tackle the famed bumps on the historic airstrip for the 71st Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

 

This event also represents the anniversary of the debut of the Racers Edge Motorsports with WTRAndretti #93 Harrison Contracting Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series. The joint effort between Racers Edge Motorsports and Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport (WTRAndretti) sponsored by Harrison Contracting Company earned a top-10 finish in the GTD Pro class at last year’s race with current drivers Ashton Harrison and Kyle Marcelli.

 

Harrison and Marcelli will reunite with Danny Formal at the first IMSA WeatherTech series event following the team’s sixth-place class finish at the Rolex 24 at DAYTONA International Speedway. The three drivers are set to campaign the remainder of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup races together behind the wheel of the Rely on RED NSX machine in the highly competitive GTD field.

 

While the 2022 event marked Ashton Harrison’s debut in the marquee IMSA series, Danny Formal serves as the team’s rookie for 2023. Formal isn’t new to Sebring International Raceway itself, but the Costa Rican native is making his first appearance at the 12-hour endurance race.

 

Official practice for the No. 93 Harrison Contracting Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 begins Thursday, March 16, around the historic 3.74-mile, 17-turn road course circuit at Sebring International Raceway, including the always-anticipated nighttime session, a favorite among drivers and fans alike. Qualifying for the GTD class is set for Friday morning, March 17, at 9:15am EDT.

 

The green flag for the 12 hours of action waves on Saturday, March 18, at 10:10 a.m. EDT. Live flag-to-flag coverage is available on Peacock. USA Network will also host live coverage of the action from 4:30-10:30pm EDT. Additional broadcasts include IMSA.com, RadioLeMans.com and SiriusXM Radio.

“It’s been a long six weeks since the Rolex 24 at Daytona. I’ve had a lot of time to think about those last ten minutes and I’m still gutted we lost contention for the podium, but that’s just fuel for the fire of redemption at Sebring. We’ve got experience under our belt, having run the race last year with the same Racers Edge Motorsports with WTRAndretti program and the same Harrison Contracting Acura NSX GT3 Evo22. Returning this year and adding Danny to the line-up with myself and Ashton, I think we have a great shot at a podium, or better yet, a win. Of course, we have 12 hours to race, and many say that 12 hours at Sebring is more difficult than 24 hours at Daytona. The bumpy track beats up the equipment and beats up the drivers, but our program has become so stout and the car has proven itself over and over again, as has the team, so there’s no question we have a good chance at that win. I’m very much looking forward to this race and bringing home some hardware.”

 

Danny Formal:

“This is my first Sebring 12-hour race at one of my favorite tracks in the world. It’s super bumpy and super physical and requires a lot of effort and focus from the drivers. I’m so excited to be back with the Racers Edge Motorsports with WTRAndretti team, Ashton and Kyle. They did fantastic together at this race last year, and Racers Edge Motorsports has a great resume of results at this track. I’m excited to get back behind the wheel of the No. 93 Harrison Contracting Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22. I’ve definitely missed driving her since the Rolex 24.
