The No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R team is aiming to extend its championship lead in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend for the sixth round of the 2020 season. Renger van der Zande and Ryan Briscoe will pilot the No. 10 Konica Minolta car around the 2.33-mile, 13-turn road course located in Lexington, Ohio.
To date, the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac team has one pole position and two top-five finishes at the flowing road course. This weekend, the team is looking to grab their maiden victory at the classic venue.
“I am looking forward to Mid-Ohio,” said team owner Wayne Taylor. “It has not traditionally been the best track for us as the Mazdas and Acuras are very competitive here. I am hoping that we will be quicker this year and be able to fight for the win. Every point counts now, and we are very focused on protecting our lead in the Championship.”
With four races remaining in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac team holds a four-point lead in the overall standings. The team is also leading the Michelin Endurance Cup with TBD points with two endurance races yet to run in 2020.
Practice at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course begins this Friday at 6:10 p.m. ET. Qualifying will be live on Sunday, September 27th at 8:50 a.m. EST. Green flag for the two-hour and 40-minute race will wave on Sunday, September 27th at 2:05 p.m. EST and can be streamed live on TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold.
Renger van der Zande
“Mid-Ohio is a track where all the manufacturers have done well so far. I believe the competition will be very good, so we’ll see how that turns out. I have not had a podium in the past two years at Mid-Ohio, so I’m very keen on collecting a lot of points first of all along with a podium for Wayne Taylor Racing. I’m very happy to get back in the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R this weekend at Mid-Ohio!"
“We will be back working hard to bounce back from our unlucky result in Atlanta. It's a really tight championship and we will need to be on top of our game to beat the competition in Mid-Ohio. I love the track and look forward to the challenge."
