The seven-time championship winning Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing team are set to do battle this weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, September 4 – 6. Five drivers across three classes (PRO, PRO|AM, LB CUP) will compete at the 12-turn, 2.54-mile permanent road course in Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2020 North America Lamborghini Super Trofeo season.
After a successful race weekend at VIRginia International Raceway two weeks ago where the team claimed four podiums and two pole positions, Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing team hopes to gain further hardware and important points towards the championship.
The No. 1 Prestige Performance Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, piloted by veteran sportscar co-drivers Stevan McAleer and Stuart Middleton, had their best weekend of the season at VIR and hope to continue their momentum in the PRO class. Ashton Harrison and Andrea Amici will again co-drive the No. 25 Harrison Contracting Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the PRO|AM class, while Sydney McKee will pilot the No 87 FaDa Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the LB Cup class.
Race 1 of the weekend will take place on Saturday September 4 at 8:15am, with Race 2 taking place on the Sunday at 9:10am. Fans can follow all of the action from Rounds 5 and 6 live through IMSA.TV, along with updates via the Wayne Taylor Racing social media channels.
Stevan McAleer, No. 1 Prestige Performance Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo (PRO)
"So very happy with last week’s two podiums. We were able to be quite aggressive at the starts and gain track position and that turned it into a great points weekend for us. Excited for Road Atlanta is an understatement. This car will be nuts around here and excited that it is a new track on the schedule. I am sure not many people have tested here so it will be another interesting weekend. With our new momentum, we hope to be on the top steps of the podium"
Stuart Middleton, No. 1 Prestige Performance Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO)
“VIR was a very positive weekend for us. It was a fantastic result to secure two second place finishes as we scored a good haul of points for the championship. The team and Stevan did a great job and we made strong moves forward, so hopefully we can continue the momentum into the Road Atlanta race weekend and bag that first win of the season! Road Atlanta is another new circuit for myself, and it looks like another awesome technical circuit to push the No. 1 Prestige Performance car to the limit, I can’t wait!”
Ashton Harrison, No. 25 Harrison Contracting Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO|AM)
“Finally racing at my home track. I’m looking forward to being back with my team and Andrea as we head to Road Atlanta this weekend. Harrison Contracting will be hosting several of my employees and guests as we expect to have over 50 people at turn five cheering and supporting our No. 25 Harrison Contracting Lamborghini Super Trofeo. I’m extremely thankful for Wayne Taylor Racing and Harrison Contracting as they have been putting in a ridiculous number of hours to get our car back to be looking good at Road Atlanta. VIR was a hurdle for us as we weren’t able to make the first race because of my qualifying accident. I’m looking forward to our comeback at Road Atlanta!”
Andrea Amici, No. 25 Harrison Contracting Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo (PRO|AM)
“Really excited to race in the legendary Road Atlanta circuit. I can also consider it like my home circuit in this season, being Ashton from Georgia. For me it will be a new circuit and I will try to immediately find the speed for a strong qualifying. We are really looking forward to our first 2020 season victory.”
Sydney McKee, No 87 FaDa Racing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo (LB Cup)
“I am very excited for Road Atlanta. My first race ever was at Road Atlanta only three and a half years ago, so I’m excited to return to my southeast roots. VIR wasn’t the weekend I had hoped it would be, but that just makes me even more determined to perform at Road Atlanta.”
