Series: Daytona Prototype division of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series
Location: Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International (3.4-mile, 11-turn road course)

The No. 10 SunTrust Corvette Dallara DP of Wayne Taylor Racing will start Sunday’s GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen from the outside of the second row after qualifying Saturday morning at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International.
Veteran Italian Max Angelelli, who with SunTrust Racing co-driver Ricky Taylor swept last year’s Sahlen’s six-hour event and the August sprint race at Watkins Glen, turned a fast lap of 1 minute, 41.930 seconds (120.082 mph) around the 3.4-mile, 11-turn road circuit, good for fourth among 32 car-and-driver combinations that will take the green flag for Sunday’s annual midsummer marathon.
“That was not the position I was expecting, but I found the car had major understeer, which was surprising to me considering how well the car ran all through practice yesterday and today,” said Angelelli, who also co-drove with the 22-year-old Taylor to back-to-back victories at Homestead-Miami Speedway in April and in May at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville. “I tried to do all I could and that’s simply the best we could get out of it for qualifying today. As far as the race Sunday, we will be just fine. We have a great racecar.”
The top-five in qualifying for Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen are:
1. Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (No. 01 BMW Riley) with Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett (1:41.309 at 120.818 mph).
2. Spirit of Daytona Racing (No. 90 Corvette DP) with Antonio Garcia and Richard Westbrook (1:41.599 at 120.474 mph).
3. Action Express Racing (No. 9 Corvette DP) with Joao Barbosa and Darren Law (1:41.667 at 120.393 mph).
4. SunTrust Racing (No. 10 Corvette DP) with Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor (1:41.930 at 120.082 mph).
5. Starworks Motorsport (No. 2 Ford Riley) with Alex Popow and Lucas Luhr (1:42.034 at 119.960 mph).
