Fresh off their thrilling Rolex 24 at Daytona victory to start the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, Ricky and Jordan Taylor, along with 23-year-old British driving phenom Alex Lynn, picked up right where they left off last week by finishing a two-day open test at Sebring (Fla.) International Raceway on top of the timesheets.
Jordan Taylor’s Friday-afternoon lap of 1 minute, 49.6 seconds in the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R was fastest of all competitors around the 4-mile Sebring road circuit. The Taylor brothers welcomed the addition of Lynn to the team for this year’s Sebring and Road Atlanta endurance events after longtime team member Max “The Ax” Angelelli’s retirement following the Rolex 24 victory the final weekend of January.
Lynn and Jordan Taylor drove both Thursday and Friday sessions at the Sebring test while Ricky Taylor joined the team Friday after testing reigning IndyCar champion Simon Pagenauds Team Penske racecar at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Thursday.
The 65th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring is set for Saturday, March 18 at 10:40 am EST.
